Spiros Zoumperis- Lead Vocalist, Backing Vocals

Q: Who are your musical influences? "When it comes to metal music, I've always kept an open mind and allowed myself to absorb different elements from a diverse range of bands. A few of these that come to mind are Motörhead, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Opeth, Pantera, Kyuss, Paradise Lost, Sentenced, and the list goes on. Sometimes it's hard to define your exact influences so I am always excited to hear what people who listen to our music have to say about it."
Q: What was your first music concert? "The first vivid memory I have was a festival which took place in my hometown when I was about 14. I got to see Judas Priest, WASP, Queensryche and Running Wild among others. Especially Judas Priest were fresh off their reunion with Rob Halford and it was insane to witness that live! It was a definite highlight of my teenage years since I was completely into all of these bands. It absolutely left a mark and gave me the drive to actively form a band and play metal!"
Q: What is your favorite song of all time and why? "Wow, that is an almost impossible task but I will do my best to answer this one. On one hand I want to say Eagle Fly Free by Helloween because that was the first metal song I ever heard and shook me to my inner core. It's the reason why I got into this music in the first place. For justice sake, after all these years, I think the definitive metal song that still makes my hair stand and fills me with energetic excitement and enthusiasm when I hear it, would probably be Painkiller by Judas Priest. That said, on a completely personal level I would pick something by my favorite band, Sentenced. I might as well go with Cross My Heart And Hope To Die."
Q: What inspired you to Sing? "I always felt the need to write music and express myself that way and it's hard to pinpoint a certain event that inspired me to play the guitar. When it comes to vocals though, as the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention! I had many songs that needed vocals and since nobody else was around, I did the vocals for the demos, thinking it would be just a placeholder. A friend happened to listen to them at some point and referred me to a fellow band that was looking for a singer at the time. We did our first gig, it was a killer show and it just dawned on me that this is what I want to do from there on!"
Q: What do you like to do in your free time outside of music? "Music takes a lot of energy out of me both to write and perform so most of my other hobbies are more laid back. I love playing video games and watching movies. Escapism is definitely a healing process in the tough times we are going though. Something I am pretty proud of is brewing my own beer, different types and styles each time, it's like making music for your tastebuds! Once in a blue moon when I feel adventurous, I might go for a ski trip and play some speed metal while scaling down the mountain. That is always fun!"
