James Lane- Lead Guitars

Q: Who are your musical influences? "I have so many influences. Off the top of my head, would be all the Ozzy guys, Randy, Jake, Zakk and Gus. Edward Van Halen is a huge influence in my playing, also Blues Saraceno. Saraceno is an incredible player and does a lot of music for movies and TV."
Q: What was your first music concert? "The first concert I ever went to was Alice Cooper at the Grove in Anaheim. The opening band was Wicked Wisdom. Which had Jada Pinkett-Smith as the lead singer! She was the lead singer of a metal band, she even screamed. I was blown away."
Q: What is your favorite song of all time and why? "My favorite song changes from time to time, but the one I’m always going back to is the song Diary of a Madman from Ozzy. Randy’s genius really shines here, and the arrangement never gets old."
Q: What inspired you to play the guitar? "I was inspired to play guitar by my dad. He used to play a lot while I was young, and didn’t really think much of it. One day in the car a live version of Crazy Train came on, and I was like, who is this? When he told me, I couldn’t believe Ozzy could sound like that. At first I thought he was playing guitar too, but my dad corrected me."
Q: What do you like to do in your free time outside of music? "In my free time, I like to play video games, ping pong, go bowling, I’m a big movie guy, so I love watching and collecting movies and when the season is right, I’m supporting my Cincinnati Bengals!"
